Making Donations
Woman abuse is everyone’s concern. We all pay for its cost whether it’s lost production, increased police and social service budgets or higher medical costs. Women’s Community House receives roughly 80 percent of its funding from the province and the municipality but it doesn’t cover anywhere near all our operating costs. Financial donations from the community are vital to help ensure the doors to WCH always remain open and our services free-of-charge. We’re always in need of financial donations, goods and time to help women and their children live their lives free of violence.
What monthly needed items to donate
Click to view the January Needed Items List that you can post in your workplace or share with friends and colleagues. Gently used clothing and small household items that are in good shape and in working order may be dropped off at the Wellington Road shelter from Monday through Friday during business hours.
Funding Model

CanadaHelps is a registered non-profit organization that allows us to accept online donations. CanadaHelps charges a 3.9% transaction fee for processing the transaction and distributing the donation to the appropriate charity. Tax receipts are issued by CanadaHelps for donations of any amount.

Join Our Board
We’re always looking for energetic and supportive individuals to assist in the critical mission at Women’s Community House. If you are interested in being a part of the Board, or know someone who may be an asset to our organization, we would like to hear from you. Volunteer
Volunteers are needed in many areas, including women’s and children’s programs, donation sorting, assistance with kitchen and household chores, special projects and board of directors. Donor Appreciation
We are extremely grateful for the financial support and friendship our donors offer, extending a helping hand to women and children that they may never meet or know, but who need and appreciate their help. We are also very aware that without the support of the community, we simply wouldn’t exist to assist abused women and their children.
The Group Hug is our annual thank you to employee groups, service clubs, churches and businesses for their financial support. This is a special evening each year in June when we recognize and highlight the importance and commitment of these ‘corporate’ donors.
The Grosvenor Club was the gathering place for the 2011 Group Hug with many representatives from various groups, clubs, churches, and businesses present to receive their respective award for the amazing support they offered to Women’s Community House in the previous year. Also present were a number of Women’s Community House Board of Directors members and staff. Keynote speaker Detective Darren Couling, Domestic Violence Coordinator, London Police Service shared an insightful and inspiring message.
